Professional book layout and formatting (digital and print formats) including all standard layout pages – title page, table of contents, dedication, author bio, etc. – as well as chapter layout (with options for traditional or modern chapter headings, dropped caps and other chapter designs)................................................ $600.00
Traditional Publishing: This option is based on a selective process we will initiate once we receive your manuscript. By traditional publishing standards we will provide all of the above to the author/client free of charge. We will also work to provide marketing for the book and will work step by step with the author during the editing and publication process through and including marketing of your book. Our compensation will be returned to us through book sales. Please complete our contact form for more information and to learn our compensation percentage from potential book sales. Please NOTE: The author is also responsible for marketing the book as well as participating in marketing events the publisher has scheduled. WE DO NOT OFFER AUTHOR ADVANCES! Author agrees to use ISBN numbers for all formats as purchased by Quill and Birch (although the author will retain copyrights to the book). Additional terms will apply. We are highly selective in choosing which novels and authors we work with in this capacity.
Editorial Book Reviews..................................... $100 per review (paid in full prior to review)
NOTE: We can not provide editorial reviews for authors who utilize our publishing services as we consider doing so would be unethical. Quill and Birch will purchase your ebook after payment is made. Reviews will be on Goodreads within one month of recieved full payment. In addition the review will be a part of our quarterly newsletter. Most importanlty, OUR REVIEWS ARE HONEST. We will not publish a review if the book is three stars or less, however, we will provide to you our reasons why the book received this rating. Editorial reviews and associated blurbs are perfect to display on the back of your paperback and hardcover and to use when marketing your book.

IMPORTANT: a deposit of $50 is required prior to us beginning our edit (with the exception of Book Reviews as stated above). The balance will be billed when the editing is completed. We will give you a time estimate after you submit your request, but standard lengths are 2 weeks (for shorter manuscripts) up to 6 weeks (for longer manuscripts).
Remitting initial $50 payment for editing services shall be a binding contract for our services and agreement to the below:
This agreement is between Quill and Birch Editing and Publishing and the author (client).
The Editor will not at any time, or in any manner, disclose, divulge, or communicate in any manner any information that is proprietary to the Client. The Editor will protect this information and treat it as strictly confidential. This provision will continue to be in effect after the termination of the contract.
Quill and Birch Editing and Publishing will complete an edit of the author’s manuscript as selected by the author (either content or copy edit or professional book layout).
The Client agrees to indemnify and save harmless the Editor from any and all claims or demands, including legal fees, arising out of any alleged libel or copyright infringement committed by the Author or Client in creating the work. It is further acknowledged by the parties that Editor has not and will not engage in any research for the subject material and that the content shall solely be that of the Client.
We will give an estimate as to when the completed edit will be returned to the author at the time confirmation of manuscript receipt is sent to the author. Completion time will be based on our workload and the length of the manuscript.
Word count will be calculated prior to the start of editing using Microsoft Word. The final cost of the edit will be based on starting word count.
All edits will be done via use of the track changes function in Microsoft Word.
Author agrees to pay the balance of the invoice upon completion of the edit. Quill and Birch Editing and Publishing agrees to return the completed edited manuscript within 24 hours of receipt of final payment.
*NOTE: We do not edit poetry, plays or most non-fiction (non-fiction will be accepted on a case-by-case basis).
